Sterling silver is an alloy made of 925 parts Fine Silver (pure silver) and 75 parts of either copper or copper and zinc.
Adding copper and zinc to the Fine Silver increases the strength and durability of the final piece.
Most silver jewellery and silverware are made from Sterling Silver.
